I TELL MYSELF
Today's reading: Psalm 146-148

"Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord, I tell myself." Psalm 146:1 NLT

A lot of thoughts creep into my mind...

I can't.

It won't do any good.

It's not worth it.

It's not in me.

Who will notice anyway?

Why even try?

Any one of those thoughts can disable me, discourage me or dissuade me from giving any further attempt.

I have to be careful what I allow myself to think, because it can very easily side-track me from what it is He has purposed me to do.

What I need to do on a daily, hourly, minute-by-minute basis is tell myself, Praise the Lord!

He deserves it!

It takes my focus off of me, my inabilities, my problems.

It is what I'm made to do.
