THEY DIDN'T KNOW HIM
Today's reading: Luke 23-24
"You seem to be in a deep discussion about something, he said. What are you so concerned about?" Luke 24:17 NLT
The travelers were talking when a stranger joined their midst.
The followers of Christ were worried, and I believe it was evident in their words and their tone of voice.
The journey takers were using their words to show they were wringing their hands and nursing aching hearts.
And Jesus was in the midst of them. Right there in the midst of them!
They didn't recognize Him. They didn't realize Who was with them. They didn't find comfort in His presence. They didn't accept that He, despite the circumstances and the talk, was victorious.
We, at times, are Emmaus-walkers, too--aren't we?
