WATCH FOR STARS
Today's reading: Matthew 1-2
"When they saw the star, they were filled with joy!" Matthew 2:10 NLT
Our Sunday School discussion this week was about the magi, their journey and the miracle of the star.
We discussed, at length, the creativity, the over-arching power required, and the simplicity of the star.
As I re-read the text this morning, on this first day of a new year--I am struck with the need to be more intentional in watching for 'stars'.
The 'stars' that direct me to someone who needs a shoulder to cry on, a listening ear or to hear the love of the Savior.
The 'stars' that point me in the direction opposite of a temptation.
The 'stars' that stop and hover over a place or a time when I need to slow down, to pause, to wait on the Lord.
The 'stars' that light up a dark time so that I can see the Lord's hand at work around me.
I want to be a 'star watcher' this year. I want to look for God's miracles around me--the bright and shiny ones AND the eensy-teensy ones, both from the hands of our Creator, Father and God.
