ACTING

Today's reading: 1 Corinthians 3-4

"...You are acting like people who don't belong to the Lord." 1 Corinthians 3:3 NLT

I heard a Christian speak talk this week about the word 'hypocrite'.

She brought out a single, solitary point that made me cringe...

The ancient word 'hypocrite' was originally used in relation to an actor wearing a mask, or someone participating in a play portraying someone they were not.

Ouch.

And now to read this portion of Scripture?

I don't want to wear a mask.

I don't want to play a part.

I don't want to ever be confused with someone I'm not.

None of us, as Christians, should be.
