Today's reading: Job 3-4

"I have no peace, no quietness. I have no rest; instead, only trouble comes." Job 3:26 NLT

As we read Job's words in the closing of chapter 3, we might be left with a bad taste in our mouth on how God treats His own.

We might nod in agreement with Job as he sighs and groans with the grief and sorrow he is experiencing.

We might even be a little empathetic, having walked a few miles in his shoes.

Read past his bemoaning.

Read on past his friends' unhelpful words of solace.

Read on through the book to the point at which Job realizes this sad, sorrow-filled time, was merely a chapter.

A season.

A brief portion of the days of his life.

A small segment of his testimony.

A comma in the writing down of his life, not a period.

Then, friend, remember that for yourself. Today is today, it's not the entirety of your story.
