BEFORE LONG
Today's reading: Numbers 25-28

"Before long Israel was joining in the worship of Baal of Peor, causing the Lord's anger to blaze against his people." Numbers 25:3 NLT

It wasn't all of a sudden.

It didn't happen overnight.

It wasn't a surprise attack.

It was like leaving the gate to the pasture open--what was intended to stay in found it's way out and what was meant to be kept out crept in.

Verses like this one give us reason to pause and reflect upon what's happening in our own lives. What's creeping in? What's being tolerated? What's being ignored? What's happening to our hearts? Are the gates left open?
