I'M AFRAID
Today's reading: Ezekiel 31-36
"When I have ruined the land because of their disgusting sins, then they will know that I am the Lord." Ezekiel 33:29 NLT
I'm afraid of what's happening to this great country of ours.
I know we are not God's chosen race or God's chosen place--but we're His adopted children residing on the acreage He's giving us as a mission field, that makes us important to Him.
And we're failing Him.
We're not living as we should.
We're not proclaiming the Good News in as many ways as we can.
We're not standing up when there's a stand to take.
We're not speaking up again issues that need a Christian input.
From sea to shining sea disgusting sins are running rampant.
The purple mountain majesties are being littered with repulsions our forefathers would have blushed at.
What can we do? We can change the spot we're in. The three square feet of America we've been assigned to be in at any given time.
I'm no tree hugger, but I do believe it's time we begin to repair or land--and it starts with the heart!
The meaning of the word "Christian" has been reduced to practically nothing. Surely, there is no word that has been so devalued unless it is the word "God" itself. Francis Schaeffer
