REMOVE THE ENEMY
Today's reading:  Numbers 33-36

"But if you fail to drive out the people who live in the land, those who remain will be like splinters in your eyes, and thorns in your sides.  They will harass you in the land where you live."  Numbers 33:55 NLT

God is instructing His chosen people to remove anyone (enemies) and everyone (previous squatters) from the new land they were preparing to enter.

He knew His children could not live there peacefully with former residents around.

He knew they might become infected.

He knew there would be problems.

And He was right.

Same is true for you, dear Christian.  If you're allowing former tenants in your heart, then your heart is not fully God's--and you're setting yourself up for some property wars!

Fear and hope cannot reside in the same heart.

Doubt and faith will never make good neighbors.

Bitterness and joy cannot share a bedroom, a city block or an area the size of Texas.

What/who do you need to move out?  What/who needs chased off?  What/who do you need to run out of town?  What/who needs to see you hammer a 'No Trespassing' sign into your life?

Splinters and thorns?  No, thanks.
