THAT ONE THING
Today's reading: 2 Kings 9-10

"Nonetheless, the Lord said to Jehu, You have done well in following my instructions to destroy the family of Ahab. Because of this I will cause your descendants to be the kings of Israel down to the fourth generation. But Jehu did not obey the law of the Lord, the God of Israel, with all his heart. He refused to turn from the sins of idolatry that Jeroboam had led Israel to commit." 2 Kings 10:30-31 NLT

That one thing.

All but for that one specific thing.

He could have had God's blessing on his entire life. He could have had blessings bestowed on generations to follow him. He could have had the hand of God on the lives of so many that would come after him.

Except for that one thing.

The 'little god he kept in his pocket'.

The one thing he chose to run to.

Turn to.

Bow down to.

Worship.

Give God's place to.

Fall back on.

Give in to.

Settle for.
