TURN ME, LORD
Today's reading: 1 Samuel 18-19, John 5:25-47, Psalm 80:1-7
"Turn us again to yourself, O God Almighty. Make your face shine down upon us. Only then will we be saved." Psalm 80:7 NLT
Lord,
I remember when my little guy was much smaller and, in an effort to make sure he was hearing me clearly, I would sometimes have to take his little face in my hands and turn him towards me. When his eyes were on me, and nothing else, I knew he was listening intently.
God...I'm asking you to do that to me.
I've been distracted as of late.
Preoccupied with the goings-on around me.
My focus has been off You and on the things happening outside my ability to control.
So carefully and intentionally, turn my face back to You.
Place my gaze on You.
Grab my attention with Your powerful love and ability.
So much so that I feel your presence on me like shafts of sunlight beaming through a summer window.
Only then will I make it!
