LAZINESS
Today's reading: Proverbs 24-26
"I walked by the field of a lazy person, the vineyard of one lacking sense. I saw that it was overgrown with thorns. It was covered with weeds, and its walls were broken down." Proverbs 24:30-31 NLT
This proverb stings!
With last week's busy-ness, almost 5 inches of rain--and the prolific nature of our weed population, one walking by my garden my consider it owned by a lazy person.
It doesn't take long at all for things to get completely out of control.
And I'm not just talking about gardens!
Life is like that.
Especially the Christian life.
Godly disciplines can easily be replaced by complacency, postponement and 'weeds'.
Oh, it's never intended. It's never what one sets out to do. It's never a goal.
It just happens after a busy week, a flood of un-scheduled happenings and/or priorities being slightly out of order.
Today is the day I'm tackling the weeds in the garden...the weeds in my heart, too!
