BEFORE AND AFTER

Today's reading: Jeremiah 17-21

"...Perhaps the Lord will be gracious and do a mighty miracle as he has done in the past..." Jeremiah 21:2 NLT

Just as in Jeremiah's time, people are asking for the exact same thing today.

But here is the problem: they fail to notice two things.

1. The problem that got them into the pickle of a problem they are currently in. Those can be found in the verses, chapters and books leads up to Jeremiah chapter 21. And in more current events they can be found on just about any new channel you might care to tune in to. For those of you who don't have the time to do all the reading, I can sum it up: they had turned away from God.

2. They choose not to follow up with what God asks in the verses and chapters that follow. His simple request. His formula for success. His plan for recovery. His roadmap to victory. His answer to their woes. His prescription for the illness. It's the same answer He is giving us today: turn back to Him wholeheartedly.
