LESSONS TO LEARN
Today's reading: Jeremiah 32-36
"...Come and learn a lesson about how to obey me." Jeremiah 35:13 NLT
Interesting how in just a few words, in one sentence, you can hear the connotation of two completely opposite things.
Take this portion of this verse as an example as God speaks through Jeremiah to the people of Jerusalem.
One might hear a patient and loving tone in His invitation to draw them into a life lesson.
Or for those in the know, you can hear the exhaustion in His voice. The utter impatience in His tone. The disgust He deserved to have with the Israelites after all He had done for them and they still didn't follow His commands.
Sure, one might read into this verse a loving God asking them into an intimate head to head training session.
Or you can hear a loving God telling them to, 'Go out and pick yourself a good switch, you have a lesson to learn!'
