Today's reading: Numbers 19-21
"Moses and Aaron turned away from the people and went to the entrance of the Tabernacle, where they fell face down on the ground. Then the glorious presence of the Lord appeared to them..." Numbers 20:6 NLT
Moses and Aaron had had it up to 'here' with the Israelites.
They had hurt them, murmured against them, complained unceasingly, were disobedient, were rebellious, were ungrateful and were a handful to try to lead in a godly way.
So Moses and Aaron did what only they could do about the situation...they turned to God.
They didn't throw in the towel.
They didn't lower their own standards.
They didn't believe about themselves what the rebellious bunch was saying.
They went to church and sought God.
Exactly what we have to do when we're hurt. Broken. Misunderstood. Overlooked. Lonely. Ignored. Skipped over for an opportunity. Lied to. Sad. Angry. Bitter.
We have to turn our back on the world and turn our eyes to Jesus. We have to get to His house and get more and more of His grace and mercy.
'Turn your eyes upon Jesus
Look full in His wonderful face
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim
In the light of His glory and grace'
