A GOOD LIFE
Today's reading: Job 41-42
"Job lived 140 years after that, living to see four generations of his children and grandchildren. Then he died, an old man who had lived a long, good life." Job 41:16-17 NLT
I wonder, was it Job's own testimony that he had lived a long, good life.
Because if he had, I applaud him.
If it was by his own admission, I do not believe he just wrote off the tough times he had encountered.
I do not believe he ever forgot the grief and agony of those 'Job years'.
I don't think he ever just dismissed the tough times.
He had to have had them in the back of his mind EVERY day after.
It had to have changed how he lived from that point on--blameless as he was.
His trust in the Lord had to have increased.
His value for family had to enlarge.
His appreciation for health and wealth had to have grown enormously.
His selection process for friends had to have changed.
I wonder, would he have said his life was to good because of the bad times?
