THEN GET UP AND LIVE
Today's reading: Job 3-4
'Woe is me.'
We've all said it.
We've all muttered about circumstances, whined about happenings and complained about what has unfolded in our lives.
We all do it.
Job has done it for twenty-six verses in chapter three.
Twenty-six statements he makes about wishing he'd never been born, why-why-why and woe is me.
Was God mad at him for doing it? No. God listens. God wants us to spill our guts. God knows what we're thinking--nothing shocks Him.
God also knew that after Job had a turn at crying it out, he would get back up and serve Him.
That's where so many people miss out on life. They want to spend the rest of their lives bemoaning what's gone wrong, how they've been treated unfairly and using the past as an excuse.
Get up and live, I believe Job would tell us. Acknowledge what heartbreak you've experienced, but dust yourself off and get back into living.
Job did it.
We can all agree that his life was one filled with horrible losses, but he went on to serve the Lord.
Don't believe me? Read Job 42:10-17.
