JEALOUSLY
Today's reading: James 4-5

"What do you think the Scriptures mean when they say that the Holy Spirit, whom God has placed within us, jealously longs for us to be faithful?" James 4:5 NLT

It's early, but I can already see in my day where the Holy Spirit might be jealous for me...

Am I spending more time readying my appearance for the world than I am in His Word?

Am I more concerned with my plans than His?

Am I comforted more by the figures in my checkbook than the One who dwells within me?

Am I more excited about a day of rest than I am about the opportunity to gather and worship His great name?

Am I taking more time attempting to impress others than evangelize them?

Are my prayers more self-centered than outreaching?

Oh, already I can see where I have caused the Holy Spirit to doubt my faithfulness to Him. Many areas needing re-arranged!
