WHAT AM I COUNTING ON?
Today's reading: Psalm 128-130
"I am counting on the Lord; yes, I am counting on him. I have put my hope in his word." Psalm 130:5 NLT
Nothing like being placed smack-dab in the middle of a spiritual inventory at 5:30 am.
That's exactly what this verse did to me.
It gave me pause.
It caused me to think.
It made me search my soul for the truth behind the question, What am I counting on?
And honestly, it's not always the Lord.
I lean heavily on many other things: my abilities, seemingly good people, money, etc.
Why?
That's just what I asked myself!
Why, when each and every one of those things have left me still wanting, still needing, lacking in some way.
So this morning as the sun decides to rise and the morning breaks to dawn and this gift of a day begins, I want to place my hope in the Lord.
All of it.
For everything.
At all times.
