NOW IT HAPPENED THAT
Today's reading: Exodus 1-4

"Now it happened that..." Exodus 2:16 NLT

This is probably one of my favorite phrases in the Word of God.

It causes me to pause.

It brings an air of anticipation to my reading.

It tells me that behind the scenes, without words on a page directing me to believe it, without my knowing or participating--God is at work!

I believe it's going to happen that certain people will be placed in my path today.

I believe, because of words like these, that this devotion will fall into the hands of folks needing it or maybe I will be able to share what I've read with another.

I believe that when I least expect it, God will show up in my day and prove His love for me. In ways I never imagined. In places I had written off as done for. In people I thought I had blown a chance with.

God is at work, and on those blessed days of my life He lets me in on just what it is He is up to.
