POLLING PLACES
Today's reading: Psalm 33-35
"Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord. The people He has chosen as His own inheritance." Psalm 33:12 NKJV
It tell us we have been chosen by God. Chosen to be His. Chosen to receive His salvation. Chosen to have Him with us at all times, guiding out every choice.
He has chosen us, but do we choose Him?
Yesterday was voting day. I made my stop in the local polling place and cast a vote, I hope, for the right person.
I'd printed off a voter guide. I knew where each politician stood, based on how they'd answered questions regarding the 'hot topics' of the day. I marked my ballot accordingly and handed it over to be counted.
It got me thinking, would God be elected as ruler over our nation, if it came to a vote?
And if He were elected by a landslide victory, how differently would our country be if we lived according to the votes we had made?
Would we even bother with visiting the polling place?
Would we, do we, sacrifice our time and our personal desires, to mark our ballot for Him?
