YOU TRUSTED HER?
Today's reading: Judges 15-16, Luke 21:1-19, Psalm 76:1-7
"Finally, Samson told her his secret. My hair has never been cut, he confessed, for I was dedicated to God as a Narizite from birth. If my head were shaved, my strength would leave me, and I would become as weak as anyone else." Judges 16:17 NLT
He trusted her?
After tricking him with the new bowstrings?
And the brand new ropes?
And weaving his hair into a loom?
Really?
He didn't once think this girl he was courting might be out to get him? Had less than his best interest at heart? Might not really love him?
And still he trusted her? With his greatest secret? With knowledge that could lead to his demise and to his separation from the God he had vowed to love and serve?
Don't I do the same thing?
When satan tells me lies?
When he sells me on half-truths?
When he steals from me, deceives me, tricks me or trips me up--for the umpteenth time?
When I let him in, 'just a little', into that area of my life that holds sore, weak, painful parts?
And still I trust him?
