NOT YET TIME

Today's reading: Haggai

"...The people are saying, The time has not yet come to rebuild the Lord's house--the Temple." Haggai 1:2 NLT

People thousands of years ago decided rebuilding the church was not at the top of their priority list.

Sound familiar?

Oh, people are busy. That's for certain.

People are busy running here and there. Throwing money at this cause and the next. Attending functions. Chairing committees. Getting kids from one place to the next. Advancing their careers. Getting together with friends.

Kids are being dropped off at training camps. Parents are taking self-help classes. Families are meeting once every month and a half, or so, for a meal around their dining room tables.

Grandparents are having to schedule, many days in advance, play dates with their grandkids. School. Practice. Gymnastics. 

But time for church?

No, no time for church.
