NO LONGER TEMPTED

Today's reading: Ezekiel 25-30

"Then Israel will no longer be tempted to trust in Egypt for help. Egypt's shattered condition will remind Israel of how sinful she was to trust Egypt in earlier days. Then Israel will know that I alone am the Sovereign Lord." Ezekiel 29:16 NLT

Israel had turned to the country of Israel instead of the Lord. For help. For provisions. For protection. 

That relationship brought about hardships, idolatry and slavery as the Israelites became dependent upon Egypt and Egypt flexed its muscles as to their control of God's people.

Israel found out, by harsh reality, that anything other than God cannot be trusted!

For security.

For needs to be met.

For support.

May we learn from Israel's mistakes and survey, deeply inventory, what it is we're leaning on.

Now is the time to evaluate whether our hope rests firmly and securely in the Lord, or is it placed into the unworthy and incapable hands of another.
