FOR THE LORD
Today's reading: Colossians 3-4

"Work hard and cheerfully at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people." Colossians 3:23 NLT

What a verse to pin to our shirts, write on our mirrors and memorize in our heads and hearts!

'Whatever' is a very largely encompassing word, don't you think?

It includes doing laundry--even folding it and putting it away.

It includes peeling potatoes--even when it's the whole 10-pound bag.

It includes wiping noses--even when the noses are not related to you by blood.

It includes picking up a paper or two off the sanctuary floor--even when it's not your own.

It includes giving our employers a good 40-hour week--even when they don't make it easy to do it cheerfully.

Because it's all for the Lord.

To bring honor to Him.

Because He has placed you in each of those circumstances to praise Him with your service.

And yes, I'll need you to remind me of it--often!
