WHY, INDEED

Today's reading: Psalm 42-44

"Why am I so discouraged? Why so sad? I will put my hope in God! I will praise him again--my Savior and my God!" Psalm 42:5 NLT

Lord, 

Why is it I am so discouraged and so sad?

Why is it my 'little light' is so dim no one around me can see it?

Why is it my praise is merely a whisper?

Here's why--I have taken my eyes off of You.

I have placed within the brackets of my mind's viewfinder the problem I face--and not You.

I have focused on the situation, not on my Savior.

You are my only hope.

Lovingly place your hands on either side of my face and turn me, heart and mind, back to You.

Redirect what I'm looking at.

Realign my eyes with Your faithfulness and goodness.

Why am I so discouraged and sad when I have You?
