BRINGING HOLINESS

Today's reading: 1 Corinthians 7-8

"For the Christian wife brings holiness to her marriage, and the Christian husband brings holiness to his marriage. Otherwise, your children would not have a godly influence, but now they are set apart for him." 1 Corinthians 7:14 NLT

Paul is reminding me that I bring something to the table of EVERY relationship I am privileged to be a part of.

As a wife.

As a mom.

As a daughter and sister.

As a church member and Sunday School teacher.

As a friend.

As a neighbor.

As an employee.

As a customer.

As a patient.

As a citizen.

As a world wide web contributor.

As a cheerleader to the one I see in the mirror each day.

Paul's words remind me of this quote by Zig Ziglar, 'Relationships are not meant to make us happy, but holy.' Some interactions will allow you to spread godliness easily, others will tax you and leave you stretched in attempting to portray the Lord.

Ask God to direct you in each role you play in the life of another.
