ALLOTMENT

Today's reading: Joshua 16-20

These chapters are recording the allotment of land to each tribe of Israel as they entered the new land.

Specific boundaries.

Indicative landmarks.

Quite specific in the descriptions and allocations.

What I don't see are any arguments. No grudges. No disputes over dispensation of acreage. No quarreling, or mumbling as these Israelites had been prone to do.

They were content with what God gave them.

Are we?

The path God chooses for us.

The abilities, or disabilities, God chooses for us.

The mission field.

The outreach.

The strongholds He assigns us to battle with until His perfect and good will is done in our lives.

Are we content with the allotment He has given us while here on this blue/green orb?
