INFLUENCE & IMITATION
Today's reading: 3 John
"Dear friend, don't let this bad example influence you. Follow only what is good. Remember that those who do good prove that they are God's children, and those who do evil prove that they do not know about God." 3 John 11 NLT
John reminds us, even us young at heart but with older joints, that who we allow to influence us is very important.
And here's why...
Who influences us, causes us to imitate them.
No, it's not just in the instance of small children wearing their Daddy's great, big work boots.
It's the adults around us we attempt to impress with our abilities, our possessions, our homes and our habits.
We must be very careful with who influences us because eventually we will be imitating them.
