FINAL RESPONSIBILITY
Today's reading: Numbers 3-4
"The area in front of the Tabernacle in the east toward the sunrise was reserved for the tents of Moses and Aaron and his sons, who had the final responsibility for the sanctuary on behalf of the people of Israel..." Numbers 3:38 NLT
As you are preparing this Saturday for tomorrow's day of worship, consider this: our pastors desperately need our prayers!
Their jobs go beyond just showing up with a twenty minute exhortation, three perfectly timed jokes and an assortments of quotes to get us through the worship service.
Their roles are bigger, much bigger, than that of 'head-honcho' of our houses of worship.
Their lives consist of more, a whole lot more, than the goings-on of the congregants in their fellowship of believers and their families.
The final responsibility of our churches, our tabernacles, rest upon their shoulders.
So, pray.
While you are gathering up your Sunday School books and Bibles for tomorrow's rush out the door, pray.
As you are laying our nicely pressed Sunday-clothes for tomorrow's stampede to the church, pray.
As you check your calendar to see where it is you're serving in your house of worship, pray for your pastors.
They need it because a whole lot of responsibility, the final responsibility, lies upon them.
