A DAILY PRAYER
Today's reading: Genesis 24-27
"O Lord, God of my master, he prayed, Give me success and show kindness to my master, Abraham. Help me to accomplish the purpose of my journey." Genesis 24:12 NLT
Abraham's servant was on a vitally important mission.
He grasped how crucial his journey would be and asked for God's blessing upon it.
But if you will notice, he didn't ask for himself...
He asked for success in order to bless Abraham, his master. He asked for help in completing the task that would please the one he worked for.
What a prayer for us!
Lord God, give me success. Success that brings you glory and honor and praise. Help me do everything you have purposed I do while on this earth. No matter how long my journey lasts, let each and every day of it point others to You. Amen
