WATCH OUT!

Today's reading: Proverbs 7

"So she seduced him with her pretty speech. With her flattery she enticed him. He followed her at once, like an ox going to the slaughter or like a trapped stag, awaiting the arrow that would pierce its heart. He was like a bird flying into a snare, little knowing it would cost him his life." Proverbs 7:21-23 NLT

While Solomon talks about a simpleminded young man on the street, might we all see ourselves in this biblical scenario?

Ungodliness seduces us. At all times. In a myriad of ways. No matter our spiritual age.

Flattery leads us to side-step what the Bible says is right and true, for what is advertised as fun and easy.

The un-thought-about remark...

The made-too-fast choice...

The not-prayed-over reaction...

And before we know it, we are bargaining with our lives. Decision by decision. Poor choice after poor choice.

Let's carefully survey our options today as we are called upon to live life choice by choice.

Will we be godly, or will we be seduced into a life that does not honor the Lord?
