LEARNING NOT TO STRAY

Today's reading: Ezekiel 13-18

"False prophets and hypocrites--evil people who claim to want my advice--will all be punished for their sins. In this way, the people of Israel will learn not to stray from me, polluting themselves with sin. They will be my people, and I will be their God, says the Sovereign Lord." Ezekiel 14:10-11 NLT

Had a season in your life where you strayed from the Lord's side?

A time when you thought you knew better?

Have you ever believed 'the grass was greener' on the other side of His commands?

How did that go for you?

God allows us to stray from Him.

He lets us follow our own paths.

Even though it hurts His heart, He watches as we live our own lives, going our own ways, settling for less than His very best.

And when we do it, we pollute ourselves with sin.

Our bodies, our hearts, our minds, our families, our communities, our world, are not created to function well outside of the will of the Lord.

Sin hurts. Waywardness stings. Self-serving ways end up leaving us empty. Ungodliness stinks.

Turn back to the Lord today. Seek Him out. Repent of all you've done against His will. Start living again today!
