COMMIT

Today's reading: Psalm 36-38

"Commit everything you do to the Lord. Trust him, and he will help you." Psalm 37:5 NLT

A commentary I read says this:

'Psalm 37:5 invites you to roll every aspect of life onto the Lord, deliberately entrust it to His faithful care, then rest in confident expectation that He will act. Surrender leads to trust, and trust positions you to witness God’s decisive, faithful intervention.'

To give over.

To pass on.

To entrust.

When I think about the God of all--all He is capable of, all the power He holds, all He has done perfectly, timely and to our utter amazement--I should find this an easy task.

But committing everything I do to Him is hard.

It means letting go of control.

It requires that I not only surrender my will, but also my plans.

To commit everything to my Lord will require diligent and wholehearted effort on my part. It will be a constant struggle between what I want and what I want more.
