THE GOOD ENOUGH

Today's reading: Matthew 8-10

"...For I have come to call sinners, not those who think they are good enough." Matthew 9:13 NLT

I don't know about you, but I have on my 'To Pray For' list, plenty of folks who think they are good enough to get into heaven without Jesus.

Nice people.

Helpful people.

Friendly people.

Good people.

People whose lives are filled with care and compassion, who hands help and serve, whose feet take them into opportunities that assist others...

But with hearts bound for hell because they don't realize their need for a Savior.

Every good person, even the best people, have to come to the realization that they are not good enough on their own.

Every 'good enough person' will come to a moment in their life when they realize in the heights of their goodness, they miss the mark set as a standard for eternity with God.

Today I pray for those people.

The 'good enoughs'.

The ones, who without seeking forgiveness, will miss out on heaven and time spent in the presence of the Savior.
