SHEPHERDS

Today's reading: Jeremiah 22-26

"I will send disaster upon the leaders of my people--the shepherds of my sheep--for they have destroyed and scattered the very ones they were expected to care for, says the Lord." Jeremiah 23:1 NLT

You might not have a pasture full of fluffy, bleating sheep.

You might not have a congregation of needy, helpless lambs.

You might not have a circle of fresh, brand-spanking new believers.

But you have someone, some little lamb, which God has placed in your care.

Someone you can uplift.

Someone you can encourage.

Someone you can guide.

Someone you can mentor in godliness.

Someone you can pray for.

Someone you can hold accountable in their faith walk.

How do I know? Because we are all shepherds, following the example of our Good Shepherd.

Watch out for those in your flock--there is a prowling, roaring lion seeking to catch one of you with your backs turned!
