LET'S GET OUT OF HERE
Today's reading: Exodus 13-16
"Their chariot wheels began to come off, making their chariots impossible to drive. Let's get out of here, the Egyptians shouted. The Lord is fighting for Israel against us!" Exodus 14:25 NLT
This verse makes me giggle!
Maybe you thought I was spiritually mature, stoic and pious...you were wrong.
Things tickle my funny bone, even in the Bible.
Imagine these burly, dressed in warrior garb soldiers, falling out of their chariots as the wheels fell off!
Imagine the looks on their faces as they turn from fierce battle scowls to eyebrow-raised doubt!
Imagine their horses running off ahead of them, high-tailing it from the turmoil that was about to ensue!
Then pause for a moment and notice what they say...
Let's get out of here, the Lord is fighting for the Israelites!
The realization.
The amazement.
The fear.
It makes me laugh to know that even the enemy realizes when God's at work.
That empowers my prayers!
That builds up my confidence in the Lord!
That allows my hope to rise to higher heights!
Does your enemy know God has heard you and is working all things out for your good and for His glory!
