FOR OR AGAINST
Today's reading: Matthew 11-13
"Anyone who isn't helping me opposes me, and anyone who isn't working with me is actually working against me." Matthew 12:30 NLT
Maybe you've grown weary of your pastor asking for volunteers.
Maybe you're tired of your church bulletin being stuffed with forms requesting you sign up to help with the children's programs or upcoming ministry opportunities.
Maybe you're fed up with the constant stream of well-meaning folks in your church asking if you would consider participating in this outreach or that.
Maybe, if that's you, maybe this very verse is for you.
Now before you write me off as just another one of the 'church folk' wanting you to donate time and energy, let me put the verse before you in a different light--or color...
"Anyone who isn't helping me opposes me, and anyone who isn't working with me is actually working against me."
My Bible, and there's a good likelihood yours, too, has this verse printed in red. That color change indicates words spoken by Jesus.
By Jesus.
Not the volunteer committee.
Not the children's church director.
Not the head of the community outreach team.
Those words are spoken by Jesus.
So, read them again...and ask yourself this question--Are you for Him or against Him?
"Anyone who isn't helping me opposes me, and anyone who isn't working with me is actually working against me."-Jesus
