SO I LET THEM

Today's reading: Psalm 81-83

"But no, my people wouldn't listen. Israel didn't want me around. So I let them follow their blind and stubborn way, living according to their own desires." Psalm 81:11-12 NLT 

What sadder words are there in the Bible than these?

What more telling words?

What more poignant words?

What more eye-opening words?

To know God loves us enough to let us do what we want...

To know God has more in store for us than we do for ourselves...

To know God's love for us isn't forceful, masterful or demanding...

To know God's love for us hurts Him as He watches us hurt ourselves...

He lets us do what we want.

He allows us free will to make choices.

He watches as we choose less than the best, other than Him and against what He has shown us to be good and holy.

He lets us...all the while knowing He really shouldn't...
