MY WAY

Today's reading: Leviticus 10-12

"Aaron's sons, Nadab and Abihu put coals of fire in their incense burners and sprinkled incense over it. In this way, they disobeyed the Lord by burning before him a different kind of fire than he had commanded." Leviticus 10:1 NLT

Remember the Frank Sinatra song, I Did It My Way?

Chart topping. Record breaking. Known by many.

He probably made millions of dollars 'doing it his way'.

Me?

When I go about doing things in the way I want, in the time frame I want, in the order I want--I usually end up with a big mess!

Today's reading has challenged my heart to pause and seek God out on what I want to do.

The best of things I want to accomplish...

The things I desire to do in revenge, in reaction, in response...

The things I don't think I can wait one moment longer to see come to pass...

The things I'm called to do something with but have no clue as to what to do...

Because these are all things I don't want to screw up--not sure that's a proper Bible-believing follower of Jesus term, but I do believe you get what I mean!

You see, more than just getting it done...

Or getting my way...

Or doing things in the manner I want them done in...

I want to do it 'His way'. Every time.
