THINGS UNCHANGED
Today's reading: Ezra 1-5
"Then God stirred the hearts of the priests and Levites and the leaders of the tribes of Judah and Benjamin to return to Jerusalem to rebuild the Temple of the Lord." Ezra 1:5 NLT
The elections are over and sadly nothing seems to have changed.
Promises were spouted.
Changes were promised.
Revitalization was whispered in our ears.
But things remain unchanged.
Could it be because we were trusting in men to do the changing?
In Ezra this morning I see where God stirred the hearts of His people--and things started changing.
He spoke to the preachers and the deacons and the church folks in a way that got them up and going, moving and shaking, repenting and wanting to evangelize by way of rebuilding the Temple.
Oh, that He would do that today!
Church people, I'm asking God to stir us up. To move our hearts. To crawl inside our cozy and comfortable selves and do a re-model that we cannot remain quiet about.
I want God to start making a change!
