BLESSINGS
Today's reading: Proverbs 11-12

"Upright citizens bless a city and make it prosper, but the talk of the wicked tears it apart." Proverbs 11:11 NLT

I'm convicted to admit that I cannot recall the last time I spoke highly and favorably and with pride in regards to our country.

So much on the news and in social media has tainted my view of our government, its politics and our leaders.

Too often I'm quick to jump on the bandwagon of criticizing what's being done in our capital and less likely to applaud the freedoms it affords.

My words can speak blessing over our country. My compliments can built it up. My pride in it can become infectious.

But it's going to have to be intentional. It's going to have to be heartfelt. It's going to have to override my propensity to see the negative instead of the positive.
