ALL THEIR MIGHT
Today's reading: 2 Samuel 5-9
"David and all the people of Israel were celebrating before the Lord with all their might, singing songs, and playing all kinds of musical instruments--lyres, harps, tambourines, castanets and cymbals." 2 Samuel 6:5 NLT
The people of Israel were participating in David's greatest feat thus far as ruler and king--bringing the Ark of the Lord to Jerusalem.
Pomp and circumstance. Ritual and religious. Pride and power.
But did you notice how they all did it? With all their might.
Makes me wonder--do we, ever, worship God with all our might?
Or do we worship with what's leftover at the end of a long week?
Or with what we believe we might be able to spare with a tough week looming ahead of us?
Or with half-hearted devotion?
Or with our attention diverted between so many glittery, distracting things?
With all our might. With everything that is in us. With all we have. With anticipation of all we hope to gain.
I want to worship with all my might!
