WRITTEN OFF

Today's reading: Luke 1-2

"...Don't be afraid, Zechariah! For God has head your prayers, and your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son!.." Luke 1:13 NLT

Here's the thing: I would guess at an estimated age of 70 plus years, Zechariah had kind of, shall we say, written off his earlier-in-life request for a child.

Wouldn't you have? Would have possibly quit asking? Would have considered God's answer to be, 'No'.

So when the angel appears in the sanctuary to this elderly priest, I'm assuming he guessed it for the answer to a much more recent prayer he had prayed.

All that to say this: God hears our prayers. God answers our prayers in His time and in His way.

We cannot ever forget that--no matter how long it might take!
