SPIRITUAL TRAINING
Today's reading: 1 Corinthians 9-10
"All athletes practice strict self-control. They do it to win a prize that will fade away, but we do it for an eternal prize." 1 Corinthians 9:25 NLT
Have you trained for your Sunday prize?
Prayed for your pastor?
Your worship leader?
Looked into the Word, either as a daily routine or to get your Sunday School lesson done?
Laid out clothes for this morning's preparations?
Set your alarm for a time that leaves you plenty of travel minutes--so you're not turning into the church parking lot on two wheels?
It takes strict self-control, to live like Jesus. It takes effort. It takes determination. It takes a deep desire to go against what comes naturally and seek out what is godly.
We can do it--or we wouldn't be instructed to do so.
