IN HIS STRONGEST TERMS
Today's reading: Isaiah 7-11

"The Lord has said to me in the strongest terms: Do not think like everyone else does." Isaiah 8:11 NLT

Do you remember the old TV commercial for E F Hutton? If I'm correct in my memories, E F Hutton was a financial counselor of sorts. The catch phrase of the commercial was, 'When E F Hutton speaks, people listen.'

They considered this fella to be competent, trustworthy, helpful and on point with his advice.

Well, don't you think even more so we should heed the words of the Lord?

Those He speaks to us?

Especially those which He premises with the fact that He is stating them in the strongest of terms?

Don't think like everyone else does.

If worry crowds the minds of the population, if fears consume the thoughts of those around you, if doubt fills the news and bolsters the social media, if chaos seemingly rules the world--it shouldn't be what you're thinking!

Watch your thoughts. Carefully. Constantly. Critically.

If they wander into territory approved of by the world, you've let them out on too long of a leash!
