BEYOND

Today's reading: Psalm 36-38

"Your unfailing love, O Lord, is as vast as the heavens; your faithfulness reaches beyond the clouds." Psalm 36:5 NLT

When I was a child, nothing was farther away than the clouds.

My sisters and I would grab one of Mom's quilts and lie in the grassy yard staring at the passing clouds in the far distance. Far beyond our reach. Farther than we could ever imagine going. Much farther than our grubby, young fingers could ever touch.

I needed that reminder this morning of God's faithfulness and how far it reaches.

His faithfulness reaches far past my faith. Way beyond my seeing. Farther, way farther than what I can allow my heart or mind to believe.

His faithfulness stretches past current prayer needs.

His faithfulness goes far beyond my plans and ideas.

His faithfulness reaches heights I cannot fathom.

His faithfulness goes to depths I cannot imagine.

His faithfulness touches lives I cannot, folks I do not know, for reasons I may never understand, in ways I may never be made aware of.

His faithfulness reaches that far...so I can trust it. With all that is within me.
