WITNESS PILE
Today's reading: Genesis 28-31
As I am reading in Genesis 31:43-55 about Jacob and Isaac's 'witness pile', I'm convicted to gather a few rocks and make my own.
You see, it's easier to hold a grudge than to forgive.
It's more natural to hang on to offenses than to let go.
It's more socially acceptable to spend time and energy attempting to get even than to get on with life.
So I need a few 'witness piles'.
Things I can see that will remind me that I have given an issue over to God.
Small piles of rocks that tell me it's safely in God's hands and no longer in mine.
Heaps of pebbles that are visual indicators of me having prayed over a matter and let that enemy of mine off the hook.
It won't be for them.
It will be for me. As a witness to remind me of doing just what God has asked me to do...trust Him with it.
Trust Him with it all.
