WAITING

Today's reading: Hebrews 5-8

"Then Abraham waited patiently, and he received what God had promised." Hebrews 6:15 NLT

Abraham waited a long time.

Eons, to you and me.

Twenty five years.

That's what we feel is an eternity.

With next day delivery, twenty four hour turn arounds and microwaves--waiting is not something we are accustomed to.

But he waited--patiently--and received what God promised.

A lesson for me, and maybe for you.

We can wait impatiently, and stir up ulcers and upset.

We can choose not to wait and stir up trouble in the form of Plan B and our own way.

Or we can go the same route Abraham chose and wait patiently and receive what God promised.

All that God promised.

Just what God promised.

In the proportions God promised.
