PLAYING WITH FIRE

Today's reading: Lamentations 1-2

"She defiled herself with immorality with no thought of the punishment that would follow. Now she lies in the gutter with no one to lift her out..." Lamentations 1:9 NLT

It's doubtful this 'gal' woke up one morning and said, Ooh, I'm going to jump into sin head first!

Of course not!

She probably dipped her toe in first by bending her moral convictions. Relaxing her own rules. Ignored what felt comfortable to her.

Tested the waters.

Never EVER thought she would go so far as to SIN.

But with one small choice, followed by another and another and another, she finds herself in a gutter covered head to toe in the refuse of sin and its 'rewards'.

Thank God, thanks be to our God, that even at this point, it isn't too late for our Lord to reach down and rescue her--or me, or you!
