LOOK WHAT WE FOUND!
Today's reading: 2 Kings 22-23
"Hilkiah the high priest said to Shaphan the court secretary, I have found the Book of the Law in the Lord's Temple! Then Hilkiah gave the scroll to Shaphan, and he read it." 2 Kings 22:8 NLT
The inquisitive part of me asks these questions...
Where had the ' Bible' been?
Had it not been being preached from?
Why were these folks so surprised to find it where it was supposed to be?
Hadn't anyone missed it before then?
Just a few questions.
I mean, truly, hadn't they noticed it missing? Hadn't their services been a little lacking in what was read, taught, discussed? Who had been in charge of the 'Bible' and why wasn't that person being held accountable the first Sabbath it wasn't in their services?
What about your church?
Is the Word of God preached?
Is it held to the highest place of authority, what it says is what is done?
Since it isn't just the pastor's responsibility to proclaim the Good News of the Gospel, how are you doing with your part of that task?
No, we're not in church right now--but is the Bible still being preached, taught, discussed and read in your homes?
